Report: BNA’s Nord Stream 2 move may delay commissioning to March

BERLIN, Nov 17 (PRIME) -- Commissioning of Russia’s Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline may be delayed to March 2022 due to suspension of certification of the pipeline operator Nord Stream 2 AG by Germany’s Federal Network Agency (BNA), Reuters reported on Wednesday quoting a government source.

“I expect that the start of Nord Stream 2 could be delayed until March 2022,” the source told Reuters.

On Tuesday, the BNA said it suspended certification of Nord Stream 2 AG as an independent operator of the pipeline, and it will continue certification only if the company’s legal form is reorganized. A German unit of the operator would have to own and operate the German part of the pipeline and submit all the documents that are necessary for certification anew.
